Fighting Crime, Protecting People

Volunteers

Introduction

We recognise the benefits of Neighbourhood Policing and empowering our communities to help provide a quality service. There has been a growing awareness in recent years of the value of volunteers and the vital role they can play in reducing crime, disorder and fear of crime.

GMP encourages applications from members of the public over 18 years of age, from all backgrounds to volunteer some of their time to carry out a variety of tasks for the Force.

Being a Volunteer means giving your time to help Greater Manchester Police improve its quality of service to our communities.  The amount of time you decide to volunteer will be up to you and will be agreed during the application process.

Today’s Police service is a challenging working environment that is constantly changing.  We aim to have Volunteers involved in a number of aspects of the service we provide to the public of Greater Manchester.

We understand that your time is valuable and that there are many and varied reasons for volunteering. In return we will aim to develop your skills as a volunteer within Greater Manchester Police

What you get for being a Volunteer?
