Question:What made you join Greater Manchester Police?
Answer:I joined the police as I wanted to be part of a uniformed organisation where team work was essential. I considered the Army and Navy, but at the time these careers did not appeal, as I did not wish to leave my family and friends for long periods of time. Another important consideration was that I was competing in athletics at an international level and I needed to be able to train locally.

Question:What advice can you give to anybody or person considering joining, either as a regular officer or a member of the support staff?
Answer:My current role is to work with the community in order to provide a service to the general public and to help resolve any problems in the area. This includes crime, youths causing annoyance and general anti-social problems. I also liaise with local authorities and various agencies, promoting the police service and fostering good working relationships across the community.
