Question:What did family and friends think?
Answer:Mixed feelings, as friends generally have been very supportive and encouraging, immediate family have been more wary, i.e. it can be a demanding job and I occasionally have to work in the evenings.

Question:What are the highlights of your career?
Answer:The project I am involved in is still in its infancy, and as such, there have been many new challenges. Consequently, this has helped me to hone my problem solving skills which I have relished. I feel that I have both learnt and contributed much.

Question:Has the job fulfilled your expectations?
Answer:I've only been in the post for about 8 months. However, I feel that during that time my role has on occasions exceeded my expectations, as I have found myself involved in tasks where best practice needs to be identified. I feel like I have made a positive contribution to new developments in the organisation.

Question:Where do you want to go with your career?
Answer:Working for GMP in a support capacity has given me a clearer insight into the day to day operations of the Police Force, which in turn has made me think seriously about applying to become a police officer.

Question:What made you join Greater Manchester Police?
Answer:I started working for Greater Manchester Police quite by chance, as I initially came as a temporary member of staff from an agency. However, whilst working at the GMP Headquarters I made the most of the opportunities available to find out about the organisation, training, promotion prospects, and more importantly, how staff felt about the organisation. With all the positive feedback I received I decided to apply for a research post on a new project that was being advertised. I was successful with my application and in short I made a wise decision.
